Overview
SugarCRM bills itself as the leader in commercial open source Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. SugarCRM is a complete set of integrated CRM applications that cover sales, marketing, support, reporting, mobile, and collaboration. There are three versions available with subscription-based pricing to match the size of the company and number of users.
SugarCRM can be deployed on-demand, running in Sugar's hosted IT environment using the Software as a Service (SaaS) model, or installed on-premise in the customer's data center. When a customer chooses any of their products, they get both a license key to download the software and an on-demand account.
In late April 2009, SugarCRM introduced Sugar Express, a low-cost, on-demand version of their software that runs on the Sugar Open Cloud. It is designed as an open platform for application services and management of SugarCRM and other applications.
Since starting as an open source project in 2004, they have grown to over 5,000 customers, serving 500,000 users, with availability in 75 languages.
