Overview

RightScale provides a cloud computing management solution to enable companies to design, deploy, manage, and automate business-critical applications in the cloud, whether in a public (e.g. Amazon, Google App Engine, GoGrid) or private cloud. RightScale's software as a service (SaaS) solution brings together a fully-automated management platform that delivers the scalable, cost-effective, on-demand power of cloud computing, while providing complete IT control and transparency.

RightScale uses a web-based interface upon which a layer of automation is built for things like launching of servers for scale, load, and failure support and for the portability applications from one cloud to another. They also have cloud-ready solutions, usually designed in tandem with an Independent Software Vendor (ISV), that provide things like a framework for running batch processes; database solution built around MySQL; or, a scalable web site front-end. The RightScale Cloud Management Platform is available in a range of editions, starting with the free Developer Edition and then across four professional use editions.

To date, thousands of deployments and nearly 500,000 servers have been launched on RightScale for large enterprise customers, as well as, small and medium-sized businesses. RightScale's cloud management solution is used for a wide variety application needs across a range of industries.
