NetSuite Talks Customization With Amazon Integration

One thing NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson wants to get across during his company's annual partner and developer conference, held this week in San Francisco, is that his company's on-demand business software and, by extension, software as a service (SaaS) applications, are certainly flexible and customizable. To that end, the company announced SuiteStorage which connects NetSuite's on-demand ERP software with Amazon's on-demand storage offering, Amazon S3. The connector was built on the company's SuiteCloud development platform, giving further evidence and credibility to its emerging partner and developer ecosystem.

"Connecting the NetSuite and Amazon clouds demonstrates our commitment to helping our customers reduce their IT infrastructure costs and responsibilities," said Guido Haarmans, Vice President of SuiteCloud Developer Network at NetSuite. "This is another example of how NetSuite customers can gain from an additional and increasing number of efficiencies in their enterprise IT needs."

Ultimately, customers can offload storage capacity to Amazon S3, saving them money and time in the long run. But it also underlines a point that CEO Nelson wants to get across to customers and pundits alike: SaaS is both customizable and extendable. SuiteStorage is evidence of that thinking.
